ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The Albany Police Department went to the Dougherty County Landfill today, and landfill staff used a bulldozer to destroy contraband the police took Sunday.

APD says that $4,500 worth of liquor and tobacco from what they call a rolling shot house was destroyed.

Someone drives a truck through a neighborhood, and people come up to buy liquor and beer from an unlicensed vendor, as well as cigarettes and other tobacco products.

Police say this activity is illegal, and these vendors bring crime to their neighborhoods.

APD provided these specifics on the mobile shot house-

A parked pick-up truck was spotted August 24, 2014 at about 6:00 p.m. in the 1400 block East 4th Avenue by an Officer. The Officer observed the driver of the vehicle sell beer to another black male.

At that point, the driver returned to the truck and drove off. The Officer conducted a traffic stop. Once the truck was pulled over, the Officer found three large coolers and a small cooler in the bed of the truck.

The driver of the truck, Patrick Nikita Lyons (45) was charged with the Unlawful sell of Alcohol, Open Container, and Obstruction of an Officer. He was booked in the Dougherty County Jail.
