Mother, two children hospitalized in Albany crash

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A mother and her two children were injured after a crash in Albany Monday afternoon.

It happened at the intersection of Cordele Road and Doles Road just before 5:30 p.m.

Police said a blue Chrysler Pacifica was traveling along Doles Road and pulled out in front of a maroon Chevrolet Silverado traveling North on Cordele Road.

That's when the truck hit the Pacifica at the intersection.

"The van was right here on Doles road at the stop sign and ran through the stop sign pulling out right in front of the truck causing the truck to t-bone the van," said Lt. M.J. Wood, Dougherty County Police Department.

The truck then hit a stop sign and a culvert, but the driver was not hurt.

The mother, Haley Pettiford, and two children were taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

The mother is expected to be charged with failure to yield.
