Detective ID's wanted man on WALB app

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Theft warrants have been issued in Dougherty County for 42-year-old Jason Semrau, who police believe is the man seen last week in surveillance video where property was taken on Oakwood Street.

Sylvester Police Detective Ronnie Graddy saw the video on the WALB app on his smartphone and recognized Semrau.

Graddy says he is known to have addresses in Worth and Turner Counties.

"We did have several burglaries, approximately three that day. Worth County had three or four in that area that day as well. So he is a good suspect on those burglaries," said Chad Kirkpatrick of DCP.

He was arrested in Bibb County for burglary and theft in May. He was released from prison in 2012. Authorities say that Semrau's criminal history takes 32 pages to print.

Semrau's truck, a 1999 Ford F-150 was also seen in the Dougherty County footage. The tag number is: PPU 9820.

Police say that he is know to frequent pawn shops across South Georgia.

If you can tell police anything about Semrau, you could get a reward by calling Crimestoppers at 436-TIPS.
