GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greer woman was killed in a wreck on Pelham Road near Cameron Lane in Greenville County on Friday night.

According to the Highway Patrol website the crash happened just after 8 p.m.

Neighbors say they heard a horrific sound and found a car in their backyard.

Coroner Jeff Fowler confirmed one person was dead at 9 p.m.

On Saturday, the Greenville County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Ashley Campbell, 25, of Rockbrook Court.

Investigators said Campbell lost control of her 2014 BMW 328 while traveling east on Pelham Road. Campbell crossed into the oncoming lane, ran off the road and hit two small trees before hitting a large tree, where the car came to rest on it's side, according to the coroner's report.

Troopers are still investigating what caused the crash.
