ESPN preps for local high school football game

LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - Officials say there are still plenty of tickets available for the nationally televised football game set for 9:00AM Saturday at Lee Co. stadium. ESPNU is showing the game between Lee Co. and Westover High.

The game was moved to the morning due to intense heat forecast for the day. Tickets are available at Lee Co. High, or at the gate on game day.

ESPN came in today to start setting up their equipment for tomorrow's game.

Crews began putting up cameras and production equipment around the stadium.

They'll be there all night getting things ready to go for the early kickoff. The game time change forced ESPN to move things up.

"Running cables, electrical outlets, and that type of thing and production kinds of things. With the game time being moved up, their production times obviously changed. They'll be ready to go tonight for a 9 o'clock game," said Lee County Booster Club president Steven Glover.

The game will air live at 9 AM and will re-air in the original 1 PM timeslot on ESPNU.
