ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Officers from the Albany Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit met with East Albany business owners Wednesday night advising them how to protect their stores from crooks.
Officers hope store burglaries will go down now that school is back in session but that presents a new challenge.
"But then we also have to be concerned about our residential burglaries," said Albany Police Department Captain Michael Persley. "Because now that everyone has gone back to school, who is home during the day? Most people have gone back to work."
APD recently started a business watch program, encouraging business owners to work together to prevent crime. They hope more businesses join.
