Rain helps golf cart fire fight

The Georgia Golf Cart Company, north of Warwick on GA Hwy 300, caught fire just before 5:00, but rain that started about 6:10 is a Godsend to fire fighters.

Crisp Co. Sheriff Billy Hancock says the call to Randy Brown Yamaha in southern Crisp County near Lake Blackshear came around 4:50PM.

Sheriff Hancock says a workshop next to where the golf carts is where the fire happened, and there is a lot of damage to the golf cars.

He says the one lane of Georgia Highway 300 northbound is blocked for emergency vehicles.

Worth County units have arrived to help provide relief for Crisp County Firefighters.

The fire is believed to be under control after about 30 minutes on the scene.
