Don't waste water

TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The City of Tifton wants citizens to be mindful of water use during the coming hot days.

Although, the city has no specific water restrictions, they want people to continue to monitor conservation water restrictions on watering lawn on their assigned days.

The city says the water resource is actually up, with a 350 million gallon a month.

"We are concerned about the aquifer. Our draw down is bout 14 feet below normal," said City Mgr. Larry Riner.

Because of the draw-down, city officials say residents are having to lower their personal water wells.
