Korean Vets to be honored with monument

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  The Albany City Commission has approved the construction of a new Korean War Monument. Albany's American Legion Post 30 will oversee the construction of the structure.

The monument has been funded through donations and support at Post 30. It will be unveiled in November. Once all the monuments are in place, the overall cost for the memorials will be around $40,000.

It will be built next to the existing war memorials off Oglethorpe Blvd., near Veterans Park, and the Albany Civic Center.
