vBENCH, the online workplace for U.S.-based talent, today announced it has made several changes to its website to attract more companies and contractors to its rapidly growing platform. With an updated homepage, and a new responsive site for mobile users, vBENCH makes its improved user experience more straightforward and accessible. In addition, vBENCH has streamlined its registration process for both companies and contractors, and also the job posting process for companies.

We are excited by the improvements weve made to our online platform and want our site users to get the best experience out of any existing job site, says co-founder JT Eberly. We already conquered many pain points for companies by providing U.S.-based talent without expensive recruiting agency fees. Now our focus is to grow the platform with a more intuitive interface.

Additional improvements include a resource center packed with helpful links for vBENCHs thousands of freelance members and a new blog with content by freelance writers.

vBENCH is a new take on talent exchange for the growing number of companies that rely on a contingent workforce. According to Freelancers Union, roughly 30% (42 million) of the U.S. workforce is self-employed today. Furthermore, according to a 2013 report from MBO Partners, by 2020, 50% of the American workforce will have spent time as an independent worker.

With an increase in American self-employed contractors, vBENCH works to improve the recruitment process. Part portfolio showcase, part project management tool, and part accounting system, vBENCH takes the guesswork out of hiring and managing U.S.-based contractors, making the process easy, inexpensive, and valuable.

"By connecting companies directly with freelancers we are helping achieve a reduction of 10%-100% in the average hourly rate by eliminating the high markups of middlemen (headhunters, staffing firms, MSP's), says Eberly. vBENCH is free for hiring entities to join, post jobs, hire, manage and pay freelancers so we are also saving clients hundreds or thousands of dollars per job posting on fees and subscriptions through other job sites.
