“Tracey Birdsall”
Dawn of the Crescent Moon actress snares award previously won by the likes of Tom Sizemore, Talia Shire and John Savage.

Indie movie queen Tracey Birdsall, star of the well-received horror pic Dawn of the Cresent Moon, has been named the winner of the prestigious 2014 Maverick Award from the 10th Annual Action On Film International Film Festival.

The award will be presented as part of the brilliant AOF Black Tie Dinner and Award Show which will be held at the Pasadena Hilton Grand Ballroom on August 30, 2014 at 7:00 pm.

Previous winners of the award include Rocky alum Talia Shire and Reservoir Dogs‘ Michael Madsen.

Festival Creator and Director Del Weston said, “Ms. Birdsall is an amazing talent. From commercial work to print, film and television and even music, she has made her mark on the industry and she’s been doing it successfully for years.”

Weston went on to say, “I have worked with thousands of actors, models, producers and directors over the last two decades but I can honestly say that I have never ever seen a person more prepared, professional and willing to work than Birdsall.”

The Maverick Award is given to talent that has shown an uncanny ability to weather the storm of working in the sometimes, tumultuous world of entertainment. Not only do they persevere, but they thrive. Weston says Tracey Birdsall is one such person.

Birdsall can currently be seen in the comedy Do You Like Your Balls? and Dawn of the Crescent Moon. Her many credits include TV classics Family Ties and Loving.
