PCA plant manager's testimony suspended

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Defense lawyers will have to wait at least another day before cross-examining the former Peanut Corporation of America Blakely plant manager.

Samuel Lightsey pleaded guilty in May for his role in the deadly salmonella outbreak traced to the plant.

Lightsey testified that PCA employees told customers that confirmed positive tests were "inconclusive."

Prosecutors continue to go through evidence to show PCA had a system to ship products to Kellogg without really testing products.

Prosecutors suspended Lightsey's testimony to call four other witnesses to the stand.

He will continue his testimony when those witnesses are done.
