Georgia Federal and State Inspection Service celebrates new facility

Posted: Updated:
ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Officials with the Georgia Federal and State Inspection Service are celebrating the opening of their new Facility in the Pecan Grove Industrial Park near Albany's airport.

They say they outgrew their old facility on North Slappey Boulevard.

Now, they have a good high speed internet connection which allows farmers to sell and even export their products faster.

“Immediately we can put it on the internet and they can sell to the European community, and anywhere else off of a certificate on the internet immediately instead of having to ship it to a port in Savannah or other ports and let it stay bottle necked there,” says CEO T.E. Moye.

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black took part in today's ribbon cutting celebration.
