VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta Police are investigating after a man was beaten in the head with a gun and then held up at gunpoint, believed to have stemmed from an argument over drugs.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday night in the 600 block of Hudson Street. Police say 50 year-old Troy Robinson got into an argument with someone he knew and that's when the person attacked him.

The suspect didn't get away with anything, but Robinson did have to be taken to the hospital.

"He had a couple of injuries to his head and facial area. EMS did respond and he was transported to South Georgia Medical Center for treatment," said Valdosta Police Department Lieutenant Aaron Kirk.

Police will not release the name of the person they're looking. If you have any information about the crime, call the Valdosta Police Department.
