Dozens show support for Communities in School fundraiser

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dozens of people came to show their support for Communities in Schools on Saturday night at Monroe High School.

The organization works with Dougherty County schools to make sure young people finish their education, get a high school diploma, and move on to college.

“The more educated your community is the more likely businesses are going to come so your community is better off having well educated people, high school diplomas, college degrees, technical college degrees, and also those individuals will have a better life,” says John Culbreath, with Communities in Schools.

They also honored Dr. C.W. Grant who served at Albany State University, and has worked with young people for more than five decades.
