SUMTER CO., GA (WALB) - Phoebe Sumter is working hard to promote a healthy lifestyle for kids.

The "get fit, get active, get healthy" conference will teach healthy habits for children.

It will be held at the Americus-Sumter High School South Campus Gym from 8 to 11 in the morning.

It will include health screenings, music, games and it's all free.

"We want to get the kicks off on the right foot start the school year off happy and healthy and moving. Again our whole premises, you know, get active, get fit, get healthy," Marcus Johnson Phoebe Health System Regional Marketing Manager.

If you can't make it to the event Saturday, but you're concerned about your child's health, organizers say you should reach out to your pediatrician.
