Wanted man caught in Lee County

LEE CO., GA (WALB) - Lee County Sheriff's Deputies caught a man wanted out of Dougherty County after a search Thursday morning near Stocks Dairy Road.

Chief Deputy Lewis Harris says Preston Andrews was arrested when a deputy spotted Andrews getting into a car on Stroud Road.

Harris says Andrews and another man took off running when a deputy approached them when their car had broken down on Philema Road around 11:00 a.m..

The second man was also located by sheriff's deputies but was not charged with any crimes.

Chief Harris says Andrews has been transferred to the Dougherty County Jail.

WALB News 10 is working to learn the charges against Andrews in Dougherty  County and will have updates later in the day.
