Cancer Stomp is back!

South Georgia's Cancer Stomp is back and bigger this year.

The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia is asking folks to form teams and raise money. The effort will wrap up with walks and carnivals in four locations in October and November. Organizers encourage businesses, churches, banks, youth groups and school clubs to get involved.

"We're giving about 100 days of fundraising time this year. But we are also moving it back into the October months. And the reason is, is a lot of people already do fundraising for cancer in October," said Melissa Goodin, with the Cancer Coalition of South Georgia.

In addition to Dougherty and Lee Counties, this year organizers expanded the event to Crisp, Terrell and Tift Counties. "Cancer Stomp" raised 13 thousand dollars last year and organizers are hoping for even more with the expansion.

STOMP's campaign Walk & Carnival events are:

Terrell County: Saturday, October 4th from 9am-12pm at the Terrell County Recreation Fields

Dougherty-Lee Counties: Saturday, October 18th from 9am-1pm at the grounds at Phoebe Meredyth Place/The Veranda

Crisp County: Saturday, November 8th from 9am-12pm at Georgia Veterans State Park

Tift County: Saturday, November 8th from 9am-1pm at the YMCA Soccer Fields
