TURNER CO., GA (WALB) -
The Turner County Sheriff's Office is cracking down an underage alcohol sales.
Investigators recently arrested eight store owners or workers who sold alcohol to undercover buyers under the age of 21.
Sheriff Hester launched the operation after getting complaints from parents about illegal alcohol sales.
He encourages teenagers to stay away from alcohol.
“They've got a lifetime to make decisions that affect their life and they don't have to break the law to do it that record is going to stick with them to start with, and that charge is gonna stick with them, and affect them for the rest of their life,” says Turner County Sheriff Andy Hester.
Sheriff Hester says store owners need to make sure all they workers card everyone who tries to buy alcohol.
