Gunmen shock Burger King morning shift

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Albany Police are investigating an attempted robbery at an Albany restaurant Wednesday morning.

An employee told police when she arrived for work around a quarter to five at the Burger King on North Slappey, two men came out from the rear of the building with hand guns and followed her inside. One of the men then jumped over the counter.

Another employee standing in the back of the store was watching as it unfolded and ran through the back door, setting off the alarm. The two suspects then ran from the restaurant.

Albany Police say the victim, Shabrecca Sheard,  30, is an employee and was entering the building to start her shift. There were three employees inside at the time of the incident. The suspects were wearing all black and were average height according to Sheard, both were armed. Their identities are unknown at this time and this case remains under investigation.

    Fire Fighters at Fire Station 2 reported that a man approached the fire station bleeding from a chest wound.  They provided first aid and called for EMS.
