(RNN) - Two double decker buses collided in Times Square in New York City.
Chief Deputy John Wieland of the Fire Department of New York said 14 people were injured, three seriously. None of the injuries are considered to be life-threatening. Passengers on both buses were injured.
"We were very fortunate that only three had the type of injuries that they needed to be immobilized, that walking would exacerbate their injuries. They all are stable. They will be treated," said John Wieland, FDNY's emergency medical services deputy chief.
The force of the crash toppled a light pole, according to WABC. Surrounding streets are closed as officials clear the scene.
