Roadwork will close part of South Slappey

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The City of Albany announced a lane closure set for Friday, August 8, 2014. It will affect the 200 Block of S. Slappey Blvd. (SR 234/US Hwy. 19) starting at Highland Avenue northward a distance of approximately 270 feet.

The easternmost lane of S. Slappey Blvd. adjacent to Highland Ball field will be closed on August 8th starting at 10:00 A.M. for the City of Albany and Water, Gas & Light crews to perform work adjacent to the roadway. The lane will likely reopen by 3:00 P.M. the same day.

 S. Slappey Blvd. will be restricted to one lane northbound from Highland Avenue during this time period. 

Motorists are advised to use alternate roads. If you are traveling in the area, reduce your speed and adhere to traffic control signage. Motorists should expect delays.
