VPD searching for suspects who shot at a Valdosta home

Posted: Updated:

Valdosta Police are trying to figure out who fired a shot into a central Valdosta home, injuring one person inside.

A bullet was fired into a back window of the home at 314 Rosedale Place just after 6 a.m. Monday morning. Valdosta Police Department Lieutenant Aaron Kirk said 24 year-old Victor Mendoza called police after someone fired a bullet through a back window of the home. Residents inside told officers that they heard a knock at their back door and when they looked outside to see who it was they saw three black men standing outside.

"I believe at least three people were inside," said Kirk. "One of the residents did report that he was grazed by the bullet. According to the officer's report, he did have a small scratch on his elbow."

Kirk added that it's unclear what the intended target was or what may have led to the shooting.

So far, police do not have a suspect description or any persons of interest. Call Valdosta Police if you have any information.
