Traffic jams were a common sight around schools on Monday.
The line of cars waiting to pick up students at Sherwood Acres Elementary this afternoon stretched all the way down Doncaster Road to Stuart Avenue. One mom says it was no surprise.
"It's actually to be expected,” said Ashlee Wiley. “It's the first day of school, they haven't gotten all of the kinks filled out yet. As a returning student here, I know that it'll get better."
Wiley says she has no concerns about the traffic and believes her children are in great hands.
