Burglars smash their way into multiple locations

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Police Department is looking for multiple criminals who broke into at least four stores Sunday night or Monday morning. Cash was stolen at A&S Liquors at 1342 Moblie Avenue after someone broke a hole in the East wall of the building about 1:00AM.

Soon after, someone stole cigarettes from the Dollar General at 1906 East Oglethorpe Blvd. by shattering the front plate glass door. APD thinks they were the suspects were the same in the burglary on Mobile.

At the MLK grocery, cigarettes, cash, and lottery tickets were stolen. The criminals broke a hole in the back wall to get inside around 4:00AM. When officers got there, they saw the hole in the wall in the rear of the store.

While patrolling, officers saw a man dressed in all black, with red tennis shoes standing on the side of the Dixie Food Store at 1400 E. Broad Avenue. The suspect ran into a wooded area behind the business. The officer checked the business and located a large hole in the wall in the rear of the business, but no one got inside.

APD says they're looking for four men with red shirts on and their faces covered. When they are caught, they'll face charges of Burglary 2nd Degree, and possibly other charges, too.
