Thousands flock to Wildlife Extravaganza

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

It's an outdoorsman's paradise this weekend at the annual Wildlife Extravaganza in Jackson. Wildlife experts help you get up close and personal with reptiles and native animals.

Everything the outdoors has to offer is under on roof at the Mississippi Trademart.

Nearly 200 exhibitors host demonstrations, show off the latest fishing and hunting gear and much more.

Even more can be found outside where various types of wildlife are on display. This is the Mississippi Wildlife Federation's largest annual fundraiser .

The money raised will help fund conservation programs in the state.

"There's a little bit of something for everybody. you know this weekend kinda marks the kick off of hunting season. So people from all over Mississippi came here to see the latest and greatest in outdoor gear and apparel and rigs and you know it's just something that people look forward to all year," said Mississippi Wildlife Federation Executive Director Brad Young.

The 28th annual Wildlife Extravaganza continues Sunday from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m.
