WOODVILLE, AL (WAFF) - An 11-year-old boy was on his bike when he was hit and killed by a van on Saturday afternoon.

State troopers said the wreck happened around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 72 one mile east of Woodville.

A van carrying two people hit Joshua Daniel when he pulled into the path of a Dodge Caravan.

Family members said Daniel was probably walking his bike across the road.

He was transported to the hospital where he was announced dead.

Daniel would have turned 12 in October.

No arrests have been made at this time. The driver of the van was released.
