For a second time in the last 13 years, Argentina has defaulted on its debt, sending its stock market into a free fall.

It's also one factor that caused the U.S. stock market to fall.

Financial advisor Vic Sullivan says Argentina's sovereign debt issue as well as Israel's invasion of Gaza and unrest in other parts of the world are impacting confidence and stability.

"While the Argentine issue is certainly of note, its impact is part of a variety of things that can cause a market that has not really been worried about a lot of things like that to maybe have some concern that it didn't have before," said Sullivan.

Argentina's President said the government has paid its bond holders and dismissed the effects of the default.
