JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Three Canton men have been arrested in connection to an attempted armed robbery. The arrest is also being linked to the death of 21 year old Nicholas Nichols, whose body was found behind a Canton home last week.

Twenty-five year old Raricos Collins, 21 year old George Gillum, Jr. and 23 year old Christopher Ross are all currently charged with armed robbery.

It allegedly happened at a July 20th barbeque involving Collins, Gillum, and Ross, along with Nick Nichols.

Gunfire was exchanged and both Ross and Nichols were hit. Nichols body was found behind a home on Boyd Street last Thursday morning.

Police are not sure exactly who shot Nichols. They are hoping the crime lab examination will help determine that.

"At this time we are still investigating it, but we believe the two are connected," said Canton Police Investigator Terence Ware. "We believe that these three individuals arrested are connected to the body that was found on Boyd Street."
