How good will first school day attendance be?

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The first day of school is just a few days away for Dougherty County students.  The school year starts Monday.

Dougherty County school leaders are making it a priority to get students in school during the first week of classes.

They say the first day of school is important for everyone.

"That is going to be a focus of Dr. Mosley, our superintendent, this year. He's focusing on student and staff attendance for the coming year and so we take the challenge up and we're going to be in our place everyday to make learning better in Dougherty County," said DCSS Spokesperson R. D. Harter.

Supply lists for all schools and grade levels are listed on the system website.
