American Legion leaders are preparing for an event to help South Georgia veterans learn more about the benefits they earned.

American Legion Post 30 on Gillionville Road will hold their second annual National Revitalization event next week to educate veterans about services offered by the VA and community service opportunities with the Legion. Local and state officials will be available to help veterans file claims.

"That is one of the main reasons the American Legion exist is for the veteran benefits and services to the Veterans as well as to the communities,” said William D. Simmons, American Legion 2nd District Commander.

The event kicks off Wednesday August 6th from 12:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday August 7th and 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday August 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For more information call 229-672-0418.
