ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Family planning services across the state have been awarded a $23.4 million grant. Family Health Centers of Georgia applied for the competitive grant.
This is the first time a Title X grant has been awarded to a network mostly consisting of Federally Qualified Community Health Centers.
Albany Area Primary Health care says this is very exciting because it will allow them to offer more medical type services and reach more people.
"With that coming under family health centers of Georgia that is able to be funded through the collaboration with community health centers. We have two other entities that will be partners with us so it's a big collaboration,” said Asst. Dir. Operations Joycelyn Yates.
Yates says this grant is vital to the community in assisting with unintentional pregnancy, pre and post natal care.Copyright 2014 WALB. All rights reserved.
