An Albany man wanted for shooting and robbing an East Albany man has been arrested in Macon.

Darius Myers was charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, and battery.

He was arrested by Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies during a traffic stop on Jeffersonville Road and Donnan Road around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators said Myers was one of several masked gunmen who pushed their way into a home in the 200 block of North Carroll Street in Albany, and shot 36-year-old Leonard Polk in the left arm and side.

35-year-old Marvin Womack was pistol whipped. The attackers stole money, a cell phone, and a food stamp card.

Investigators say Myers was working as a cook at an IHOP restaurant in Macon. He was taken to the Dougherty County Jail.
