Retail stores in South Georgia are gearing up for the tax free holiday weekend.
Parents and students will be able to get tax exempt school supplies and clothing ahead of the start of the school year. The tax free weekend is one of the busiest shopping times of the year for the state.
Moultrie Store owner Steve Lazarus says it's the perfect time for customers to get the best back-to-school deals. "Back to school starts on the 7th, a Thursday, so we have a lot of promotions already out there and 7 percent more is just another extra savings for our customers."
The tax free holiday kicks off this Friday, August 1st until Saturday at midnight.
Keep in mind, clothing that is more than $100 and computers that are more than $1,000 are not tax free.
