ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Service dogs change the lives of the people they help. But they're expensive.

Training costs about 36-thousand dollars.

The Lions Club of Albany wants you to help them provide service dogs.

Members will host a fundraiser at the Petsense in east Albany across from Walmart Saturday from 10 AM to 3PM.

100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the leader dog program.

Jim Ervin says "The training they go through the time they spend with the dog so that they can bond together and know that they are going to be able to take care of the dog as well as the dog take care of them."

Ervin also says people can drop by to find out more about being a part of the Lions Club helping improve the quality of life for those that need a helping hand.
