Lee County deputies are searching for a man who they say robbed a restaurant at gunpoint.
Chief Deputy Lewis Harris said just before 5 a.m. Friday a man went into the Waffle House on U.S. 19, jumped over the counter, holding a gun in a plastic bag. He demanded money from the register, then demanded more from customers.
Authorities said there were about 4 customers in the store at the time and one handed over cash.
Officials say the man ran from the scene. The suspect was described as a black man, about 6 feet tall, 200 to 230 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts and had a bandana over his face.
Chief Harris says they're waiting for a copy of the surveillance video.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
