VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta High School's baseball coach is remembering one of his former players who died this week at the age of 28.

Bond Crosby was the baseball coach at Meadow Creek High School in Atlanta. He collapsed during a softball game on the 17th, after suffering a heart attack.

He had been in surgery ever since to try and repair his heart, but it wasn't enough.

"Just a great person. Easy to get along with, very coachable young man," said Valdosta High School's baseball coach Bart Shuman. "Great student at Valdosta High School. He just did everything we asked him to do. He was a great pitcher for us."

There's no word yet on funeral arrangements.
