COOK CO., GA (WALB) -

A ceremony will be held at Cook County Middle School Saturday morning to officially unveil new street signs honoring a fallen Adel war hero.

The new signs will dedicate Highway 76 from downtown Adel to the Brooks County line in honor of Staff Sergeant Briand T. Williams, who was killed in Iraq on November 22nd, 2009.

Organizers are expecting a big turn out for the ceremony.

"We are having a group from Fort Benning, Georgia, where Briand was stationed as his last unit station. We also have the Georgia Patriot Guard, so hopefully they're gonna be lining this room holding American flags," said Linda Meadows, one of the main organizers of the ceremony.

The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. State representatives and dignitaries from across South Georgia will also be present at the ceremony.
