Helicopter crash victims honored

Three people who died in a LifeFlight helicopter crash in south Georgia were remembered Thursday on the anniversary of the crash.

Paramedic Michael 'Stick' Elam, nurse Renee Welch Chapman, and Pilot Bart Bradshaw died when their chopper crashed in Worth County on July 24, 2000.

Elam's sister says the memories of that tragic day are still fresh.

"They need to be remembered," said Allison Peugh. "I don't have a doubt they're not remembered. They were all a big part of our lives. They ere very much loved and now very much missed.

This monument to honor the victims was erected in Sylvester's Jeffords Park four years ago.
