A recent Education Summit at Monroe High School in Albany was a big step forward in improving student achievement in our community.
Educators, the school superintendent and the presidents of Darton, ASU and Albany Tech, got together to talk about the challenges we face in improving student achievement here.
We applaud the facilitators from UGA and participants in the summit for being honest, open, and most importantly, present at this first-time listening session.
If you were asked to be a part of this and were unable to attend, another summit is planned for later this summer.
Our students need to know that this community is doing all it can to make education in Dougherty County one of the best in our state.
