TIFTON, GA (WALB) -
A company that makes high-performance electric cars now has a supercharger station in south Georgia.
The newest Tesla Model S supercharger is in Tifton, behind Starbucks right of Interstate 75. Drivers can use any of the eight charging stations free.
We caught up with Tesla driver Tim Chen on his way back to Atlanta from Orlando.
He says it only takes about an hour to charge his car fully.
“The end of 2015, Tesla says they will build so you can drive coast to coast without any problem. They try to build every 150 miles so you can recharge it. Right now it’s not that convenient but I believe it will,” said driver Tim Chen.
There are Tesla charging stations in Macon and Savannah, and Chen hopes Tesla will install more supercharging stations.
