Tifton schools get renovations

TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Two Tifton school will have a much different look when students return to class.

Eighth Street Middle School has new ceilings and renovated hallways, and  Matt Wilson is getting improvements too.

Workers also installed motion censored cameras and security doors in the front entrance.

School leaders says the changes will enhance the learning experience for the 1200 students.

“I think our kinds are going to love it. We had kids already come in this summer. Football team, cheerleaders. They are amazed as how much painting and work in the hallways has made this school much brighter, more inviting for learning to take place,” said ESMS Principal Chad Stone.

The Matt Wilson school holds fourth and fifth graders in Tift County.

The 2014-15 school year in Tift County starts August 7th.
