Investigators name Lee Co. burglary suspect

LEE CO., GA (WALB) - A Lee County man is arrested, accused of burglarizing a home in broad daylight.

Lee County deputies say 29 year-old Joshua Cox stole a radio, weed-eater, power tools and a TV from a home on Dixie Road. Authorities say he broke into the home with this screwdriver Tuesday morning, but a neighbor saw him and the getaway car.

The witness alerted authorities who tracked down Cox on US 19 south. "We had deputies going to the north, we had deputies stay south and we also had deputies coming from the east and west to try and box in the potential burglar. And it actually worked out in our favor and we were able to apprehend him," said Investigator Matt Pearce with the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

Cox is charged several crimes, including first degree burglary. Investigators say he could be connected to other burglaries and additional charges pending.
