About 9:00 Wednesday morning, a white van has slammed into a utility pole on the corner of Palmyra Road and Ledo Road.
The driver and passenger appear to be okay. A Georgia State trooper redirected traffic, and then arrested the driver, who authorities say has no drivers license.
"Just an inexperienced driver. She says she was trying to take the turn too quickly and hit the power pole head on,” said Georgia State Trooper 1st Class Daniel Joiner.
The trooper says the 20-year-old driver, Shuntoria Sanders, was driving without a license.
She apparently tried to take a sharp curve into the parking lot nearby and lost control of the vehicle. There were no injuries, but the van had substantial damage and was towed away.
