The world lost a true trailblazer with the passing of Olympian Alice Marie Coachman-Davis.
Mrs. Coachman-Davis was the first African-American woman to win an Olympic gold medal when she represented the United States at the 1948 Olympic Games in London.
How fitting that the last Summer Olympic games returned to London and Alice Coachman returned to the world stage to reflect on her 1948 accomplishment.
