VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  At their Tuesday night meeting, the Central Valdosta Development Authority discussed Valdosta's new proposed noise ordinance, among other items.

The city council is scheduled to vote Thursday whether to amend the city-wide ordinance to increase the distance noise is allowed to travel without being a violation, among other changes.

Valdosta Police said they don't expect the potential changes to make it any harder to enforce the ordinance.

"From a law enforcement's perspective, the enforcement will be the same for us whether it's 600 feet or 300 feet," said Commander Bernard Robinson, with the Valdosta Police Department. "If it moves to 600 feet, we'll use the same criteria as far as enforcing it goes."

Thursday's council meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.
