Cordele man arrested in drug sweep

CORDELE, GA (WALB) - Officers from numerous agencies made a drug sweep Monday in Cordele, and took Mandle Lee Johnson into custody. They are looking for another suspect, Kelvin Daniels, who was not at home when agents went to his house to arrest him.

Officers confiscated cocaine and Hydrocodone pills from Johnson's home. He is in jail in Cordele.

The Crisp Co. Sheriff's Office sent this release-

On July 21, 2012, the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force, the Crisp County Sheriff's Office and the Cordele Police Department served multiple search warrants in Cordele. The search warrants were the result of a several week investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics in the Cordele area.

The first search warrant was served on the residence of Kelvin Daniels at 316 West 17th Avenue, Cordele. During the search of this residence law enforcement seized over one pound of suspected marijuana valued at $1,000. Agents also recovered a stolen Taurus .357 magnum revolver.

At the time the warrant was served Kelvin Daniels was not present at his residence. Anyone with knowledge of his location is asked to contact the Crisp County Sheriff's Office.

The second search warrant was served on the residence of Mandle Lee Johnson, 504 10th Street South. During the execution of this search warrant law enforcement recovered approximately 7 grams of cocaine valued at $700.00 and 39 hydrocodone pills valued at $200.00. Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of hydrocodone. Johnson is currently in the Crisp County Detention Center.
