Miss Georgia visits Phoebe NICU

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Miss Georgia dropped by Albany Tuesday morning to visit babies at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Southwest Georgia Native Maggie Bridges, who was crowned just last month, visited the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The national platform for the Miss America organization is the Children's Miracle Network. But Miss Georgia say this region's CMN hospital, Phoebe Putney, has always been important to her.

"I just spoke to a couple of parents who were giving me the rundown of how much help Phoebe has been to their child," said Bridges. "I'm so blessed to just be here and be a part of it and be at Phoebe to meet a couple of people that have seen the impact of Children's Miracle Network hospitals."

So far, Maggie has raised $10,000 for Children's Miracle Network. Her Goal is to raise $25,000 before the September 14th Miss America Pageant.
