Georgia peanut farmers get ready for conference

TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The Georgia Peanut Commission is getting ready for the Southern Peanut Growers Conference.

The 16th annual event will be held in Panama City, Florida.

Peanut Commissions in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi work together to coordinate this event.

It gives farmers an opportunity to listen to experts and learn more about the crop.

"It's an industry event that brings growers together from across the southeast. States such as Mississippi, alabama, Florida, and Georgia, where they can learn more about the peanut industry," said Communications Director Joy Crosby.

The commission expects more than 700 farmers at the conference.

To sign up for the conference, visit southernpeanutfarmers.org.

They will also have live videos on the website.
