A man driving a tractor was killed in a crash Wednesday on U. S. 19 in Mitchell County.

State troopers confirm that Juventino Lopez, 37, was killed in the crash that happened just after one p.m. in the southbound lane of 19 near Silvi Lane, near Baconton.

It appears that a pickup truck driven by Joshua Ray Jennett, 20, collided with the blue tractor that Lopez was driving. The tractor ended up down an embankment.

SCRT team is back on the scene today to continue their investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
